Rencontres Musicales Internationales des Graves

Since its inception in the summer of 2000, Rencontres Musicales Internationales des Graves presented over 100 concerts with an audience of 20000, hosted 200 faculty artists and 1000 students.

Its mission is to foster cultural and pedagogical exchanges through public masterclasses and performances. Students come every year and stay at the Chateau Moulerens where all classes take place. Faculty members come from prestigious institutions in France and abroad. Student performances are part of the pedagogical vision, enriched with the inclusion of non traditional and contemporary music, composer’s residencies and workshops by various artists.

Renown artists such as Mstislav Rostropovich, Maxim Vengerov, Didier Lockwood, Betsy Jolas and Francois Rossé have come share their expertise and work with students over the years.

The festival is situated in the Graves region of Bordeaux surrounded by some of the most beautiful wineries where most of the concerts (and wine tasting) takes place.
