Dan Dery

Dan Dery, a graduate of the Juilliard School of Music in New York, has worked with great violinists including Pinchas Zuckerman, Ruggiero Ricci, Sylvia Rosenberg and Shmuel Ashkenasi.

Having performed regularly in Europe, the USA, Israel and Taiwan, he counts amongst his chamber music partners artist such as Nobuko Imai, Alain Meunier, Imre Rohmann, Francois Guye and Michel Lethiec.

Formerly concertmaster of the Metropolitan Orchestra of Lisbon and professor at the Lisbon conservatory, Dan Dery has also performed as soloist with  conductors such as Muray Sidlin, Miguel Graça Moura (Orquestra Metropolitana de Lisboa) and Hugues Reiner (orchestre philharmonique Européen and the symphony orchestras of Briansk & Tambov) .

His discography includes works of Franz Schubert under the label MAP with the pianist Wilfrid Humbert. Recently, for the opening concert of the prestigious concert series in  Victoria Hall, Geneva, they released the complete Brahms violin sonatas with Classiques Alternances.

Dan Dery currently lives in Geneva where he has developed a significant class with numerous prized students in Swiss national competition, is the founder of the Blonay Virtuosi summer course, the MyOngaku app for suzuki students, has given “master classes” in both Europe and Asia and was the founder of the Festival de Jussy.
